Steel Security Storm Doors

Your 24/7 Security Guard

Protect your home in style.

No home is complete without a security storm door! Besides acting as a 24-hour-a-day security guard, our steel security storm doors offer protection from the elements and ventilation when you need it. Aztec Manufacturing, Inc makes the strongest security doors in Southern Colorado.

Our doors are made in-house which means more options for you than any big box store could possibly offer. Did you fall in love with a design on Pinterest? We can recreate it for you! Need a doggy door? No problem! Even if you have an under-sized, over-sized or rounded entryway, Aztec Manufacturing, Inc. can get it done!

We love custom jobs, but we also have some of our own designs that have proved to be great choices for almost any style of home. We love to see our customers make their door their own. Just picking a custom color can make your door look like a piece of art, no matter how plain the design.

Browse our door look-book for ideas and inspiration on both design and color.

Our Locks

Our Hinges

Aztec Manufacturing, Inc.’s Lifetime Ball-Bearing Hinges are made right here in Pueblo, Colorado. We use heavy-duty steel, including 5 steel bearing balls per hinge.

Five grease-packed bearing balls mean a smoother operation, less chance of flat-spotting. That means less maintenance for you and a longer lasting product!

Because we are always seeking to improve and add value to our products, starting in 2023, all of our doors will be installed with three of our house-made ball-bearing hinges.

Our Glass

Our doors are completed with heat-tempered safety glass. It helps protect your family in two main ways. First, it is extremely tough and durable. It can handle blunt impacts and hard closes without breaking. Second, if it does break, it shatters into very small pieces to reduce the risk of serious injury if a human or pet happens to be nearby. This is a standard feature that increases the security and safety of every Aztec door! Our glass can also be ordered with a built in tint or a low-E coating to increase energy efficiency.

Aztec Door Rekey FAQ

What does rekey mean?

The factory-keyed lock is rekeyed to match your provided key.

What kinds of keys can you use?

We can only use Kwikset keys.

What if my key is another brand?

Unfortunately, we will not be able to match your key. Your door will come with a factory-keyed lock and two factory keys.

How many keys do I get back?

If we are matching your key, one. We use your provided key, and you get the same exact key back. We do not make any copies.

How do I get copies?

Visit Racine’s, Ashley Hardware or use the automated minuteKEY kiosk at Lowes.

What is the process to have my lock rekeyed?

You must provide a key at least one day prior to your installation appointment.

You have two options:

  1. If you have a spare, you can give it to your salesperson at the time you place your order. It will be kept in a safe until your job is ready to install. Your key will arrive with your door.

  2. After your door has been fabricated, we will call to let you know that it is ready. At that time, you will need to schedule an appointment to bring in your key to our office. It usually takes about 20 minutes per door, and you are welcome to wait while we key the locks. We will give you that key back. When our installers come to your home to install your door, you will need to provide them with the key, which you will get back once the installation is complete.

Helpful Terminology to Know!

Width - the horizontal measurement across the door. Width always comes first when giving measurements.

Height - the vertical measurement from top to bottom. Height always comes second when giving measurements.

Standard size - standard size door widths are 36, 32 and 30 inches. Front doors are usually 36 inches wide. Back doors and garage entry doors are often 32. Standard height is between 79-81. Anything outside of this range is considered non-standard. We can make doors in any size!

Self-storing glass - a single-hung aluminum storm window unit that is equipped with 2 tempered glass sashes and a half screen. They allow you to have full control of ventilation year-round. These units can be placed on the top half, bottom half or both of any of our center lock security doors. (However, they cannot be added to an existing security door as they require special construction.)

Double cylinder - a deadbolt that is keyed on the inside and outside.

Ball-bearing hinges - a heavy-duty hinge equipped with several steel balls and packed with grease. While not maintenance-free, these hinges will last a lifetime if oiled as needed.
